Speedify vs Peplink vs SRTLA: which bonding do you actually need?

Bonding means splitting one video stream across several links at once and reassembling it at the far end, so a single dead zone thins the stream instead of ending it. Most comparisons frame this as Speedify against Peplink, cheap software against pricey hardware. That framing skips the option most IRL streamers should take, and it skips the option most of them think they already have.

The row that is not bonding at all
eSIM Is Failover, Not Bonding is a named rule on this site because it is the mistake that costs people the most money for the least reason. A phone holds one data connection at a time. A second carrier on the same handset is a spare tyre: genuinely useful when the first network dies in a parking garage, and worth $15 a month for that alone, but it adds no bandwidth and it will not hold a tier your single line could not hold. If your stream drops in crowds, a second eSIM is not the fix.
If you are building a belaBOX, you already bought bonding
This is the part the two-way comparison hides. SRTLA ships inside the free belaBOX firmware, so an Orange Pi 5 build at $150 tracked bonds every link you plug into it at no extra cost. Paying Speedify $15 a month on top of that is $180 a year for a capability the encoder already has. SRTLA has one hard requirement, and it is the reason this is not simply the answer for everyone: the far end has to speak SRTLA back, which in practice means a relay such as belaBOX Cloud at $10 a month tracked. You cannot point SRTLA straight at Twitch.
The default if your encoder is a belaBOX. Free, and it bonds directly to the relay you were going to run anyway.
Where Speedify earns its subscription
Speedify is the answer when the thing doing the encoding is not a belaBOX: a phone running an app, a laptop running OBS, a desk stream on a flaky line you want to reinforce with a hotspot. It bonds at the network layer, underneath whatever software is on top, which is exactly what SRTLA cannot do. The price is a tunnel through their servers, so every packet takes an extra hop before it reaches the platform, and something has to spend the CPU cycles doing the encryption.
Bonding for encoders that have none of their own. The only one of these that works under an ordinary phone app or a desktop OBS.
When Peplink is honestly worth $400
A SpeedFusion router is not a cheaper subscription than Speedify; at $13 a month tracked against $15 the running cost is a wash, and you have paid $400 for the box. What $400 buys is a purpose-built radio and antenna set instead of a phone modem, dual SIM slots in one enclosure, and a failover path managed in their cloud rather than by your encoder. That is a reliability argument for an event you are being paid to cover, not a value argument for a hobby stream. For a solo creator it is the thing to buy after the second data line, the relay, and the battery, not before.
The pick when a dropped stream costs you money rather than momentum. Buy it last, not first.
