Data is the part of IRL streaming people underestimate, and the part that decides whether your stream holds. Before you pick a plan, do the math on what you actually burn.
At a 4 to 6 Mbps bitrate, a stream uses roughly 1.8 to 2.7 GB per hour. Stream a few hours a day and you are into hundreds of GB a month, so a truly unlimited plan is non-negotiable.
What to actually look for
- Truly unlimited, not "unlimited then throttled after 35 GB"
- A strong upload, not just download, on the carrier you use
- The option to run two lines on different networks for bonding and failover
- Real coverage where you actually stream
The plans that work
US Mobile
Pick Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T per line, which makes it easy to run two different networks for bonding.
Visible Unlimited
Truly unlimited on Verizon for a cheap single line. A great primary.
Mint Mobile
Cheap T-Mobile data, a good budget second line for redundancy.
Travel eSIM (Airalo / Holafly)
For streaming abroad. Check the fair-use caps before a long session.
Run two lines on different carriers. Bonding needs two pipes, and one network’s dead zone is often the other’s full bars.
