A chroma key works by finding a colour nothing else in frame shares and deleting every pixel of it. That is the entire mechanism, and it explains everything about buying one: the fabric barely matters, the evenness of the colour matters enormously, and a wrinkle is a shadow, which is a second shade of green the key has to treat as a different colour.

The $120 question
The Elgato is the nicer object: it lives in a weighted aluminium case, pulls up in one motion, and drops back down when you are done. If your screen has to disappear every day because you share the room, that is a genuine daily convenience and $120 over the NEEWER is a defensible price for it. If the screen is going to stand behind you permanently, you are paying $120 for a retraction mechanism you will use twice. Both key the same, because the key is a lighting problem.

Light the screen, not just yourself
The most common bad key is one light, aimed at the person, throwing a gradient across the fabric behind them: bright green near the middle, dark green at the edges, and a key that eats your shoulder while leaving a halo by your ear. The fix is two things, and neither is a better screen. Light the screen separately and evenly from both sides, and stand a few feet in front of it so the light on you does not spill onto it and the green does not bounce back onto your edges.
The alternative that has quietly won
AI background removal in OBS, added by plugin, segments you from the room with no screen at all, and for a talking-head stream it is now good enough that a lot of people never buy the fabric. It has one real cost and it is the reason this is not simply the answer: it runs on the same machine that is encoding your stream and often the same one running your game. If your CPU is already the limit, a $40 sheet of cloth is the cheaper computer upgrade.

Do you need a green screen to stream?
No, and most people asking should not buy one. A green screen exists to remove your background, which only matters if something is going to fill that space: full-screen gameplay with you keyed over it, or a room you would rather viewers did not see. If neither applies, the money goes on the light instead.
What colour green screen is best?
Whichever is furthest from your skin, hair and clothing. Green is the default because it is furthest from most skin tones, but if you regularly wear green, a blue screen keys better. Several budget screens are reversible for exactly this reason.
